Former MD at PayU, Jitendra Gupta has been appointed by BharatPe, a UPI enabling payments and digital lending for merchants.
Post his delink with PayU, this is being known as Jitendra Gupta’ first official association with any company.
Gupta gained fame and had become one of the leading faces in and around the fintech industry after selling his company – Citrus Pay to PayU in the year 2016.
As far as his last role is concerned, he was leading PayU’s credit business as the MD at PayU.
BharatPe is now known as the fastest fintech firm to grow to $650 million Total Payments Volume within 10 months of its launch.
A network of 11 lakh merchants has been established by the company and it is also known for facilitating over 15 million of monthly UPI transactions.
Jitendra Gupta reportedly said that Bharat Pe is one of those few fintech companies in India which creates an alternative lending business on back of UPI acceptance.
Sources suggest that Jitendra will be joining the co-founders ShashvatNakrani and Ashneer Grover,Beenext’sTeru San and Sequoia’s HarshjitSethi and on BharatPe’s Board.
