According to sources, The RuPay JCB Global Card can now be used at card accepting points for RuPay in India as well as for JCB out of India for both point-of-sale (POS) and ATMs. This is with the aim of serving the needs of outbound Indian travellers.
New cards will be issued by many of the Indian banks including State Bank of India,Axis Bank, Punjab National Bank, Central Bank of India and Union Bank of India.
A 15% cashback offer for POS transactions is being featured by the launch outside India and an additional 15% in Singapore, Thailandand UAE. JCB’s international servicescan also be accessed by the card userssuch as in-city card member lounges around the world DilipAsbe, managing director and CEO at NPCI reportedly said that the NPCI-JCB collaboration is one of the most valued alliances when it comes to their home-grown card network, Rupay.
This association allows Rupay JCB card holders to use their cards at tens of millions of locations across the world. Facilities like JCB lounges in the airports of Japan, China, Hawaii, Singapore, Dubai, Hong Kong, Korea and Bangkok. Both the companies, with this initiative would continue to provide high value service to their customers, especially outbound Indian travellers.
This is said to be the second phase of a strategic partnership between JCB and NPCI, which started in 2017 with the enablement of ATMs and POS terminals in India for incoming foreign JCB card members.
